jectioncurrentcurveprovidedonthefirstpageofyourlasertestreport.
Ifpossible,useanintegratingspheresensortoavoid thesaturation typ-
icallyobservedwhenusingSiphotodiodesensorswithsmallspotsizes.
The thresholdcurrent and slopeabove threshold shouldbe similar; ifnot,
refer to §4.3.
3.2 Wavelength
Oncethepower iscomparablewiththetestreport,thewavelengthcanbe
adjustedwithreferencetoawavemeterorspectrometer.IncreaseCURRENT
to the value recordedin the lasertest report. If the measured wavelength
iswithin0.1nmofthedesiredwavelength, thecurrentandpiezo(FRE-
QUENCY)canbeusedtomakesmallchanges. Iftheprecisewavelength
cannotbereached with current andpiezo adjustments, then the wave-
lengthshouldbeadjustedusingtheλ adjustmentscrew(seefigure3.1).
Ensure thatthespringplungeris notlockedagainstthearm ofthefilter
spindle. Forlargerwavelengthchanges,releasethespindle-clamplock
screw, then rotate the filter spindle and re-clamp.
Do not attempt to control wavelength by adjusting the temperature.
Notethatthecateyelensfocusiswavelengthdependent, sowheneverthe
laserwavelengthischangedsubstantially(morethansay5-10nm),we
recommend also optimising the current threshold (see §4.3).
