The radio reverts to the
preprogrammed emergency
channel to send alarm and/or

preprogrammed emergency
talkgroup to send alarm and/or
make emergency call.
Man Down is an alternate way to activate the
Emergency feature on the condition the Emergency
must be set up for this feature to operate.
See Man Down on page 95 for details.
Sending an Emergency Alarm
This feature allows you to send a data transmission,
which identifies the radio sending the emergency, to
the dispatcher.
Note: Emergency button press timer by default is set
to 1 second. This timer is programmable from 0 – 6
seconds by a qualified technician.
Press the preprogrammed Emergency button.
One of the following scenarios occurs:
The display shows Emergency on the current
zone and channel. You hear a short medium-
pitched tone and the LED blinks red
momentarily.
You hear the radio sounds a short low-pitched
tone to indicate that the selected channel does
not support emergency and rejects to launch
emergency mode.
When you receive the dispatcher’s acknowledgment,
the display shows Ack received. You hear four
tones, the alarm ends, and the radio exits the
Emergency Alarm mode.
If no acknowledgement is received, the display shows
No acknowledge. The alarm ends when the timer
expires and the radio exits the Emergency Alarm
mode.
Sending an Emergency Call (Trunking Only)
This feature gives your radio priority access to a
talkgroup.
1 Press the preprogrammed Emergency button.
