Step 4. Slide-in to lock the SIM drawer.
The CPU Box can be mounted at any place in the passenger compartment that provides
ade
quate ventilation (see Figure 4).
It is recommended that the CPU Box be mounted in a place where the PCMCIA Card
compar
tment can be easily accessed. Attach the adhesive tape, provided in the shipping
carton, to the PCMCIA card to enable easy removal of the PCMCIA card from the PCMCIA
compartment.
Suggested locations for CPU Box installation, in order of preference, are: on the CPU Box
moun
t, p
risoner cage, under the dashboard, inside the console, or under the seat (not in the
direct path of the vehicle heater air flow). The CPU Box mount/trunnion (See “The CPU Box
Mount/Trunnion” on page 24.) should be used if the CPU Box is mounted on a base plate or
any other flat surface.
The CPU Box mount/trunnion is attached to the CPU Box by four bolts supplied with the

trunnion. The mount/trunnion can be affixed to a flat surface by eight bolts (not
included).
The CPU Box Mount/Trunnion
The CPU Box mount/trunnion (see Figure 21) enables the CPU Box to be mounted on the
flat surface or pedestal. The CPU Box mount/trunnion can be installed in any other suitable
lo
cation inside the vehicle. It is recommend to install the mount/trunnion within +- 5 degrees
