What to do if my Motorola Battery Charger shows a fault?
    • J
      Jamie TorresAug 2, 2025
If your Motorola Battery Charger displays a fault, first, ensure the radio or stand-alone battery is correctly inserted. Then, check for any contamination or corrosion on the charging contacts. Remove the radio or battery, verify that you are using an authorized Motorola Solutions battery (check Table 5 in the manual for compatible models, although I cannot provide that here), and clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth. Also, inspect and clean the charger pocket contacts after removing the power. If the issue continues after these steps, try replacing the battery. If the fault disappears, discard the original battery. If it persists with a new battery, the charger may be faulty.

How to fix Motorola PMPN4286 Battery Charger when it powers on but LED doesn't flash green?
    • D
      Dawn KennedyAug 12, 2025
If your Motorola Battery Charger powers on, but the LED doesn't flash green, ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the charger and a functioning AC power outlet. Also, check the outlet to confirm it has power. Inspect the fuses and replace them if necessary.

Why does my Motorola Battery Charger say 'UNKNOWN BATTERY'?
    • B
      bzamoraAug 22, 2025
If your Motorola Battery Charger displays 'UNKNOWN BATTERY' or 'CANNOT DISCHARGE FOR LI SHIPMENT', remove the radio or stand-alone battery. Verify that the battery is an authorized Motorola Solutions battery (check Table 5, although I cannot provide it). If it is an authorized battery, inspect the charging contacts on both the battery and the charger for contamination or corrosion. Remove power from the charger before cleaning the contacts with a dry cloth. Then, reinsert the authorized Motorola Solutions radio or stand-alone battery.
