Previewing and Reading Messages
• When you receive a per sonal o r information ser v ice me ssa ge, the
Status s creen displays and the com municator (PIC) alerts according to the
MailBox or News/Info Alert setting. A f lashing E or j displays on the
Main menu indic atin g w hich type of message has been received.
• To stop the alert, press the sid e button or open the flip. The d on the
Standby scree n and E or j on the M ain men u flas h until you have r ead
all received Mailbox or News/Info servi ce messages.
• If reminder aler t s were preset, the communicator (PIC) periodically alerts
to remind you of any unread Mailbox messages.
Previewing Messages
From the Main menu, press y or z to highlight E or j and press { to
display a list of the first 4 messages.
Ifyouhavemorethan4messages,usey or z to high light the desired
message listing.
9 displays to the left of messag es you pr eviously viewed and read.
\ displays when a reply was successful.
x displays when a reply was unsuccessful.
^ displays to the left of any unread MailBox message with cu stom reply
choices attached.
