(7) Feed the leg base strap through the feet at the bottom of the Workman Tripod legs. Check all
leg pins to assure secure fastening and set the feet in the tread-down position. Tighten the strap
through all connectors by pulling the loose end of the web through the cam buckle
(8) When all equipment is in place on the Workman Tripod, make a last check for plumbness and
stability. Make final adjustments. Then, remove the hatch and manhole cover.
3.3.2 Compacting the Workman Tripod
To compact the Workman Tripod for transport or storage, reverse the setup procedure. To disengage
the leg hinge locks, pull down on the leg and hinge it inward. Attach Workman Tripod legs together
securely with lower strap as shown. After use, return the Workman Tripod to the proper person and
place for cleaning and storage.
