8.10. Remove the drain bolt from the carburetor float
bowl using a 10mm wrench, and let the fuel flow
out of the system. See Figure 8.10.
• The bowl drain may also be used to prevent fuel
spillage during carburetor removal.
NOTE: There is a gasket between the head of
the drain bolt and the bowl.
NOTE: the torque for the drain bolt is 80 - 106
in-lbs. (9 - 12 Nm).
8.11. The air filter and pre-filter are easily accessible
behind the air filter cover. See Figure 8.11.

8.12. The air filter assembly is easily removable using
a 10mm wrench. See Figure 8.12.
• Disconnect the crankcase vent tube.
• Remove the screw that holds the air filter hous-
ing to the control bracket.
• Remove the two nuts that hold the air filter body
to the carburetor mounting studs.
• Lift away the filter housing.
8.13. Behind the filter housing is a steel plate with
formed rubber gaskets vulcanized to each sur-
face. See Figure 8.13.
