MULTICAM MACHINERY
GUIDE TO SAFE OPERATION
To ensure the proper and safe operation of the machine it is important that the following points be
observed.
1.The machine must only be operated by persons correctly trained in its full and proper use.
2.The machine must only be operated in accordance with instruction provided by Multicam Systems
and with reference to the Machine User Manual.
3.Machine operators must wear appropriate safety clothing to prevent injury through cuts by cutting
tools and blades. Eg cut proof gloves.
4.Ensure that clamping systems are free of obstructions and that no other personnel are likely to be
injured or engaged prior to activating the clamps.
5.The machine must only be used for its designed purpose.
6.The machine must not be used with safety guards removed.
7.The machine must not be left unattended whilst in operation.
8.The machine must not be used if safety interlocks are faulty or inoperable.
9.All foreign or loose objects must be removed from the machine bed prior to operating the machine.
10. Flammable liquids must not be used on the machine.
11. Persons operating the machine must observe all safety notices.
12. Persons operating the machine must observe all safety directions as set down by the safety
officer in the proper use of machinery and the principles of safe material handling of the
company.
13. Persons operating the machine must wear suitable clothing. Loose or ill fitting clothing must
not be worn. All jewellery capable of becoming entangled in moving parts or materials must be
removed before operating the machine.
14. Personal safety devices such as, but not limited to, hearing protection, eye protection and hair
nets must be worn by any person operating, or in attendance to, the machine.
15. Maintenance work must only be carried out by fully qualified persons.
16. If manually changing tools in a quick tool change motor ensure that the tool holder is correctly
engaged in the motor. Do this by firmly grasping the nut on the tool holder and pulling in a
downward and sideways movement and checking for looseness. If you are able to “wobble”
the tool holder it is not correctly engaged.
To prevent damage to the machine or injury to machine operator it is imperative that all safety
directions be fully observed when operating the Multicam machine.

I acknowledge that safety aspects of the machine and its operation have been explained to me and
persons trained to operate the machine. I acknowledge that future operators will receive appropriate
training prior to being permitted to operate the machine and that all safety procedures associated with
the operation of machinery will be strictly adhered to in accordance with our obligations under
Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
