7. Using the mulcher for the first time
Your Müthing mulcher will have been delivered to you by our authorised dealer fully assembled
and ready for use and you will have also been instructed on how to use it and given details of
possible risks and safety measures that need to be taken.
Below you will find the information essential for the handover, the checks to be carried out, the
necessary settings and on working with the mulcher.
Taking delivery of the mulcher
Please check that all of the following components have been supplied.
The delivery includes:
the mulcher in its standard version.
support rollers or wheels
three-point headstock
P.T.O. shaft (if ordered)
Instruction Manual with Replacement Parts List
all other special equipment and accessories ordered
Please report any damage that may have occurred during transit or any missing components to the
haulage company straight away Ensure that the driver confirms any damage. If in doubt please
contact our authorised dealer or us direct.
Note: Please check that all screws, nuts, bolts are firmly seated and tight, and that
the drive-belt is correctly tensioned. Retension as necessary. Please repeat
this check no later than 30 minutes after using the machine for the first time.
Check the gearbox oil level and that of the extension shaft , if fitted. Check all
grease points, topping up the oil and re-greasing as necessary.
Note: It is essential to check that the drive on the mulcher and the drive on the tractor
are precisely set to 540 rpm. (See plate mounted on gearbox). If the two do not
match please arrange for our authorised dealer to change it for you.
Failure to match drive speeds could cause serious damage to the mulcher’s
rotor and gearbox.
