General checks and maintenance
Check your machine on delivery and at regular intervals thereafter.
The most important checks are listed systematically below:
→ Mulcher supplied complete and undamaged ?
If not, please contact us immediately.
→
Any missing warning signs must be reported !
If not, please reorder any that are missing.
→
Check all nuts and bolts are properly seated and secure!
If not, please re-tighten.
→
Are all drive belts tight ?
If not, please re-tension.
→
All grease points sufficiently greased - grease visible ?
especially on the rotor bearings and idle roller bearings.
If not, re-grease where required (please refer to greasing plan) page 7)
→
Is there sufficient oil in the gearbox?
If not – please top up or drain (see: Checking oil levels and changing oil).
→
Check that the drive speed of the gearbox is the same as the tractor’s P.T.O speed!
If not – have it converted in a specialised workshop!
→
Check that all safety devices are fitted to the mulcher and are fully functional!
If not, please contact us immediately or have them refitted or cleaned.
→
Check approved P.T.O. shaft’s protective guards are fitted and functional!
If not, please contact us immediately or change P.T.O.
→
Check if all necessary hydraulic connections are present, fitted and functional!
If not, please contact us immediately or arrange for them to brought up to specification
in a specialised workshop.
→
Machine properly mounted or capable of being so ?
If not, please contact specialised workshop.
If any components are missing or fail to function correctly please contact your authorised dealer or
the Müthing company direct.
Please do not start using the mulcher until it has passed all the checks and been fully
serviced as listed above.
After mounting the mulcher start with a test run
, taking account of all necessary safety
precautions (see pages 16 - 26), make sure that the tractor’s HP does not exceed the
permissible maximum and check all functions and noise levels. All components should run
smoothly without any clattering, with minimum vibration, and produce a single tone with no other
disturbing noises.
