→ Ensure that the drive pulleys
run absolutely parallel to the side plate and are
completely flush with one another
To check this, hold a spirit level against
both pulleys and ensure that they contact simultaneously at all four points. If
not, realign the pulleys.
(Misalignment of the pulleys can cause excessive wear to the drive belts).
→ Finally, tighten all bolts and refit the drive belt casing checking that all the attachment
screws are sitting correctly and are secure.
→ After approximately 30 minutes work recheck the drive belt tension, and after 1-2
hours work check that all screws and bolts are secure and re-tension or retighten as
necessary.
Note: When changing drive belts always change complete sets to ensure maximum
power transmission.
