Prepare for Injection

Wash Hands and Gather Supplies

Wash hands and gather autoinjector, syringe, sharps container, damp cloth, and alcohol swab.

Step 1: Attach the Orange Needle Cap Remover

Remove Components from Case

Remove Handle, Orange Needle Cap Remover, and Syringe Housing from the protective case.

Insert Needle Cap Remover into Housing

Insert the Orange Needle Cap Remover into the Syringe Housing; it does not click.

Step 2: Reset the Autoinjector

Position Syringe Housing

Place the Syringe Housing on a flat surface with the Orange Needle Cap Remover end up.

Align and Push Handle

Position Handle over Syringe Housing and push down until a 'CLICK' is heard.

Confirm Reset Status

Verify reset by checking for no white check mark and a popped-up Orange Injection Button.

Step 3: Set the Needle Depth

Rotate Needle Cap Remover to Set Depth

Rotate Orange Needle Cap Remover to align desired depth value with Needle Depth Indicator.

Understanding Depth Settings

Smaller values (4, 6) give shallow injection; higher values (8, 10) give deeper injection.

Step 4: Insert Syringe into Housing

Remove Syringe from Packaging

Remove the 1.0 mL BD pre-filled Glass Syringe from its blister packaging. Do not remove needle cap.

Place Syringe Housing and Insert Syringe

Place Syringe Housing on surface and insert syringe with needle cap end down.

Secure Syringe in Housing

Firmly push Glass Rim into Syringe Housing until it 'CLICKS' into place.

Step 5: Reassemble the Autoinjector

Align and Turn Syringe Housing

Align white arrows and turn Syringe Housing until it locks into the Handle with a 'CLICK'.

Step 6: Select and Clean Injection Site

Prepare Injection Site

Place autoinjector on clean surface, select site, and clean with alcohol swab.

Step 7: Remove the Syringe Needle Cap

Pull Off Orange Needle Cap Remover

Hold Handle and pull Orange Needle Cap Remover out of Syringe Housing to remove grey needle cap.

Collect Fallen Needle Cap Parts

Turn Orange Needle Cap Remover upside down to allow both parts of the needle cap to fall out.

Save Needle Cap Remover for Future Use

Save the Orange Needle Cap Remover for future use; do not dispose of it in the trash.

Troubleshooting Stuck Needle Cap

If needle cap is stuck, press on it until it dislodges.

Step 8: Inject the Dose

Position Autoinjector and Press Down

Place autoinjector straight on site, press down until depth setting number is hidden.

Press Injection Button and Hold

Press Injection Button to start ('CLICK'), hold down, watch for green marks, then check mark.

Confirm Injection Completion

Hold until check mark is visible or count 10 seconds after first 'CLICK' if window is not visible.

Step 9: Confirm Full Dose Received

Confirm Full Dose Delivery

Confirm full dose delivery by checking the Viewing Window for a white check mark in a green box.

Take Action on Dose Issues

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you believe you did not receive a full dose.

Safety Warning: Needle Exposure

Avoid placing fingers near the needle end, as the Needle Depth Adjuster does not lock.

Step 10: Remove and Dispose of the Used Syringe

Unscrew Syringe Housing from Handle

Carefully unscrew the Syringe Housing from the Handle, holding onto the housing with the syringe.

Dispose Syringe Safely

Tip Syringe Housing to drop syringe into Sharps Container; do not use regular trash or recycling bin.

Step 11: Clean the Autoinjector

Clean External Parts

Wipe external parts and accessible areas of Syringe Holder and Handle with a damp cloth.

Cleaning Restrictions

Do not use immersion, detergents, solvents, or alcohol for cleaning the autoinjector.

Step 12: Store Autoinjector in Protective Case

Store in Protective Case

Store the Autoinjector in its Protective Case until required for your next dose.

Storage Precautions

Store in a dry, room-temperature place, out of sunlight; do not refrigerate or store syringe inside.
