Why does my Napoleon 485RSIB Grill have low heat?
    • J
      Jason LewisJul 26, 2025
Low heat or flame in your Napoleon Grill can occur due to several reasons. If you are using propane, ensure you are following the correct lighting procedure, with all gas grill valves off when the tank valve is turned on, and turn the tank on slowly. For natural gas, the supply line might be undersized. For both gas types, ensure you preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Make sure the pipe is properly sized according to the installation code.

What to do if Napoleon Grill has excessive flare-ups?
    • F
      Francisco MckinneyJul 30, 2025
Excessive flare-ups or uneven heat in your Napoleon Grill can be due to sear plates installed incorrectly, improper preheating, or excessive grease and ash buildup. Ensure sear plates are installed with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean sear plates and the drip pan regularly.

    • A
      Alan VazquezAug 3, 2025
The 'peeling paint' inside your Napoleon Grill lid is not a defect but hardened grease that dries into paint-like shards. Regular cleaning will prevent this.

    • N
      Noah JonesAug 7, 2025
If the infrared burner on your Napoleon Grill flashes back, turn the burner off and allow it to cool for at least two minutes. Relight the burner and let it burn on high for at least five minutes, or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red. Ensure that no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered by objects or accessories. Allow the burner to cool and inspect it closely for cracks. If any cracks are found, contact your authorized Napoleon dealer to order a replacement burner assembly.
