Why does the high limit switch keep tripping on my Napoleon Pellet stove?
    • E
      erin35Sep 16, 2025
The high limit switch in your Napoleon pellet stove might be tripping repeatedly due to: * The convection blower overheating: Clean any dust from the winding and fan blades. If cleaning the blower does not help, the blower may be defective. * A power surge or brown-out: A power surge, spike, or voltage drop could cause the high limit switch to trip. Check to see if a surge protector is being used on the appliance. If not, it is highly recommended. * A malfunctioning high limit switch: If no other problems are found, replace the high limit switch.

What to do if my Napoleon Pellet stove has a very active flame on pilot (low feed)?
    • M
      melissarileySep 18, 2025
If your Napoleon pellet stove exhibits a very aggressive flame on the low feed setting with high pellet consumption, you can adjust the low feed rate setting. Press and hold the auger feed button and the heat down button simultaneously. If only the #3 light is on, the appliance is in the default setting. Trim the feed rate down one setting, #2 light will be on. Trimming down #2, the #1 light will be on. Try burning the appliance.

What to do if my Napoleon Stove shuts off and the #3 light flashes?
    • J
      Jack MillerNov 20, 2025
If your Napoleon Stove shuts off and the #3 light flashes, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure that the hopper has enough pellets and the lid is properly closed. Check if the burnpot is correctly seated and not blocked. A partial blockage in the air inlet, interior chambers, or exhaust system could also be the cause, requiring a thorough cleaning. Other potential issues include a jammed auger shaft, a failed auger motor, a malfunctioning low limit switch, a blown fuse on the control board, or the control board not sending power to the low limit switch or other auger system components. Also, if the flame has gone out in the burn pot while at feed rate 1 and a few unburned pellets are in the pot, the feed rate may be too low for the pellet fuel being used; in this case, adjust ...

Why does my Napoleon Stove shut off and the #2 light flash?
    • D
      Dorothy SmithNov 22, 2025
If your Napoleon Stove appliance shuts off and the #2 light flashes, there are several potential causes. Check for blockages in the vacuum hose or fittings—unhook the air hose from the vacuum switch and blow through it to ensure it's clear. Also, inspect the air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, and exhaust pipe for obstructions. Ensure the firebox is properly sealed and the door and ash door gaskets are in good condition. Verify that the vent pipe is correctly installed and that the vacuum switch wire connections are secure. Examine the gray wires at the connector on the wiring harness and make sure the blue wires are not loose at the connector. If the combustion blower isn't running, check for 115 volts of power going to it; if there is power but the bl...

What to do if Napoleon Stove won't feed pellets but auger light is on?
    • M
      meltonhollyNov 26, 2025
If your Napoleon Stove appliance will not feed pellets but the auger light comes on, a possible cause is a blown fuse on the control board. To check this, remove the control board and inspect the fuse. If it appears defective, replace it with a 0.5 amp, 125-volt fuse and try running the unit again. Another potential cause is a tripped or defective high limit switch. Allow the appliance to cool for 30-45 minutes to see if it resets. If not, temporarily bypass the high limit switch (for testing purposes only!) to see if the appliance functions. A defective auger motor could also be the issue; remove the motor from the auger shaft and test if it turns. Also, inspect for an auger jam. Finally, check all wires and connectors to the auger motor, high limit switch, and the Molex connector for any...
