Why is there excessive flare-ups/uneven heat on my Napoleon PRO285 Grill?
    • A
      allenscottSep 2, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat on your Napoleon Grill can be due to improper preheating or excessive grease and ash buildup in the drip pan. To resolve this, preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Also, clean the drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

Why is my Napoleon PRO285 regulator humming?
    • D
      Diane LindseyAug 31, 2025
A humming regulator is a normal occurrence on hot days. It is caused by internal vibrations in the regulator and does not affect the performance or safety of the gas grill. Humming regulators will not be replaced.

Why does the “paint” appear to be peeling inside the lid of my Napoleon PRO285 Grill?
    • C
      Christopher FowlerAug 29, 2025
The peeling 'paint' inside the lid or hood is not a defect but is caused by hardened grease that dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning will prevent this.

Why does my Napoleon PRO285 Grill burner burn with yellow flame and a smell of gas?
    • K
      Kelly HinesAug 27, 2025
A yellow flame accompanied by the smell of gas is likely caused by a spider web or other debris. Thoroughly clean the burner by removing it.

      Tiffany NelsonAug 26, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat can be caused by improper preheating or excessive grease and ash build-up in the drip pan. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Clean the drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

Why is there low heat/low flame on my Napoleon Grill when the valve is on high?
    • T
      tiffany72Aug 25, 2025
Low heat or flame can occur due to a blockage of gas, improper preheating, or a propane regulator in a “low flow” state. For natural gas grills, it could be an undersized supply line. Check for spider webs in the burner or orifice. Preheat the grill with main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Ensure the lighting procedure is followed carefully, with all gas grill valves in the off position when the tank valve is turned on. Turn the tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize. For natural gas grills, the pipe must be sized according to the installation code.

If your Napoleon Grill burners are producing a yellow flame accompanied by a smell of gas, it's likely due to a possible spider web or other debris. Thoroughly clean the burner by removing it.
