Why does the light fail to operate on my National Microscope?
    • L
      leecampbellJul 27, 2025
The light on your National Microscope might not be working due to several reasons: the batteries may be fully discharged (recharge them), the rheostat control might not be turned up enough (increase the light intensity by turning the rheostat), the light switch could be off (turn it on), the LED bulb might be burned out (replace it), or the fuse might be blown (replace the fuse).

    • D
      debra34Aug 1, 2025
If the image on your National Microscope lacks sharpness, it could be due to dirty objective lenses (clean them), dirty eyepiece lenses (clean them), or too much light (adjust the diaphragm).

      Sheri OsborneAug 8, 2025
If the image on your National Microscope won't focus, the rack stop might not be set correctly (adjust the rack stop), the slide could be upside down (place the slide on the stage with the cover slip up), or the slide cover slip might be too thick (use a 0.17mm thick cover slip, No.1 cover slip).

    • V
      Veronica CoxAug 14, 2025

What to do if image does not remain in focus on National 211?
    • J
      Joshua RobertsonAug 21, 2025
If the image on your National Microscope doesn't stay in focus, it could be because the stage is dropping due to its own weight. To resolve this, adjust the tension control.
