Network connection
To go to the Network connection menu, push Home, and select
More>Supervisor Functions>Advanced Settings>Network connection.
You can choose from three types of network connections to your Digital
Entertainer HD:
• Wired. Ethernet local area network (LAN) connection.
• Wireless. Wireless 802.11b or 802.11g connection.
• Standalone. USB device connected directly to you Digital
Entertainer HD.
Other Advanced Settings
Other features you can access from the Advanced settings menu include:
• Servers and shared folders. Set up shared media files available for
the Digital Entertainer HD. See “Set Up Network Shares” on
page 6-6.
• Parental controls and security. Set up parental controls See
“Exercising Parental Control” on page 5-15.
• Media library management. Manage your media library. See
“Media Library Management” on page 6-6.
• Scheduled recordings setup. You must have a Windows-based PC
running the Digital Entertainer for Windows software and a valid
NETGEAR Program Guide license key to use this feature. See
“System Information” on page 6-8.
• Select language. Choose a language for the Digital Entertainer HD
onscreen menus.
• Time and location. Specify your location and time zone and
synchronize your Digital Entertainer HD to a time server.
• Other. Enable or disable folder browsing and SACK audio
processing, and control the speed of media art display.
• Restore factory defaults. This resets all the options to the default
values as of the last installed firmware, and requires a system restart.
• Data save location. Specify where the media library, photo
thumbnails, electronic program guide, and other data will be saved.
