Setting the Flash Mode
1 Press the rotary multi selector _ (flash mode).
The flash mode menu is displayed.
2 Usethe rotary multi selector to choose the
desired mode and press the _]_button.
The icon for the selected flash mode is displayed.
When _AUl"I)(auto) is applied, @_ isonly displayedfor a
few seconds, regardless of Photo info settings (_ 164).
Ifa setting is not applied by pressing the _) button
within a few seconds, the selection will be canceled.

_1_ Notes on Shooting When the Flash Is Disabled (_)) or Lighting Is Dim
• Use of a tripod is recommended to stabilize the camera du ring shooting. Set Vibration
reduction (_ 166) to Off in setup menu (_ ] 57) when using a tripod to stabilize the camera,
• _ may be displayed in the shooting screen. When _ is displayed, iS() sensitivity is
automatically increased.
• The noise reduction function may be activated with some shooting conditions such as dim
lighting. More time than usual is required to save images to which noise reduction is applied.

When using the flash, reflections from dust particles in the air may appear as bright spots in images,
To reduce these reflections, set the flash to @ (off}.
