Perform a  nal check.
Check the O-ring:
• Is it cracked or damaged? Replace it.
• Is it twisted or out of position? Reposition it.
• Remove any hair, dust, sand, and other
foreign objects.
Check the built-in fl ash: If you are using
an underwater fl ash unit, check that the
built-in fl ash is raised; otherwise, be sure
the fl ash is lowered.
Check the camera:
• Be sure the camera is in
the correct orientation

• Remove the camera strap.
Check the O-ring seal and watertight channel:
Remove any liquid, hair, dust, sand, and other foreign
objects.
Check the desiccant: Check
that the desiccant is correctly
placed (

Check the lens:
• Does the zoom ring rotate smoothly and does it adjust zoom? If not, reposition the zoom
gear sleeve.
• Confi rm that the inner-refl ection prevention sticker or ring is in place (

12, 13).

Close the case.
Close and latch the case.
