3.5 Private Contacts
On top of colleagues in your own company or business group (which always
appear in your contacts list), other Smart users can be added to your contacts
list as Private Contacts.
Private contacts are indicated by the icon
appearing to their right.
3.5.1 Adding a New Private Contact
To add a new private contact to your contacts list, you must be familiar with
their user name.
In the Contacts tab of the Main Screen, press the Options key and select
Add a contact. A popup window appears, containing an input line.
Type the username that you wish to add to your contacts list, and press the
joystick or the OK key. To cancel the operation and go back without adding
the new contact, press the Cancel key.
A few seconds later, a notification message will pop up to acknowledge that a
Contact Request has been sent to the target user, and the user will be
added to your contacts list, in Pending status (See 3.1).
A Pending User is a user who has been asked to be your contact and has
not yet replied.
When a pending user accepts your request, their status will change from
Pending to their actual current status. If your request has been declined, the
pending user will be removed from your contacts list altogether.
NOTE
If you try to add a user to your contacts list when they are logged out, your request cannot be
delivered instantly; it will be stored in the server and delivered as soon as its addressee logs in.
