TIPS
Your user name and password will be saved in the relevant fields, saving you the effort of retyping
them on your next login.
If your device is shared by multiple users, it is recommended to turn Auto Login off, to protect your
privacy.
You may modify your settings later, even after login is performed (See 2.8).
After filling in your details press the Options key and select Login. A
notification screen appears while Smart IM logs in, followed by the
application's Main Screen
(See 2.3).
NOTE
If your device is not yet connected to the network, it will now perform the standard stages of
connecting, and only then perform the actual login procedure.
2.3 The Main Screen
The Main Screen consists of 3 tabs:
• The Contacts
tab (designated by the icon ) displays your contacts list.
Chapter 3 discusses this list in further detail.
• The Active Chats
tab (designated by the icon ) displays a list of all
your current chat-peers. Chapter 4 discusses this tab in further detail.
• The My Status tab (designated by the icon ) displays your current
status. See more about this tab in section 3.4.
The name of the currently selected tab appears in the title, followed by a
parenthesized text to denote your current status (See 3.1).
You may switch between the tabs by moving the joystick to the left or right.
