2 Press it as many times as needed for the letter to appear on the
screen.
For example, to enter the name John:
Press J
Press O
Press H
Press N
About predictive text input
This method of text entry works differently than the way phone book
entries work. With predictive text input, you only need to press each
number key once for each letter.
For example, to write Nokia with the English dictionary selected:
(for N) (for o) (for k) (for i) (for a)
Since the displayed word changes after each key stroke, try to disregard
the word until you have keyed in all the characters.
Turn on predictive text input
1 Press Menu, then Select.
2 When Text messages appears, press Select.
3 Scroll to Write new and press Select.
4 Press Options and scroll to the dictionary you want (for example,
English).
5 Press OK.
T9 dictionary activated appears. This means you can use predictive
text input to enter messages. In the text message window where you
write, the predictive text icon appears.
