Usage Attributes
- shows long-lasting operations that the
user can cancel while the operation is
in action (for example, file operations,
data transfer)

dedicated) tells the user that the
system is not halted. The animation
might also entertain the user

10.5 Progress Bar
Progress bar can be used either in a dialog as a cancel note or in a narrow bar in the bottom right-handcorner of the
Application Area.
When it appears in a dialog, the background dims. When the narrow progress bar is used, the background remains
‘‘active’’ and can be viewed and scrolled.
