Out-of-range results may be caused by the following:
• Anerrorinperformingthecontroltest,retestandfollowthe
instructions carefully.
• Thecontrolsolutionmayhaveexpiredorhavebeencon-
taminated. Check the expiration date on the control solution
vial. Control solution is good for only 3 months after opening.
Make sure the control solution vial is closed when not in use.
• Expiredteststrip-Checktheexpirationdateontheteststrip
pouch.
• Theteststripmayhavebeendamaged.Thiscanbecausedby
extreme temperature. Retest using a new test strip.
• Monitormalfunction-themonitormaynotbeworkingprop-
erly.
NOTE: If the control solution test result is outside the range (is ei-
ther higher or lower), your monitor and test strip may not be work-
ing as a system. Repeat the process using a new test strip.
Do not use the monitor until test results fall within the appropri-
ate range. If the problem continues, call toll-free, 24 hours a day, 7
days a week Customer Service at 1-800-681-7390 (inside the USA).
Outside the USA, contact your Nova supplier.
