Inspect splice
a. Inspect top of splice, both in a at and bent
state. Fingers should be fully closed along
entire nger, especially at the nger tips. (If
not: Consider if temperature is too low.)
b. Inspect top and bottom of splice for burn/
scorch marks. (If it is: Consider if temperature
too high, dwell time too long. Consider if you
need to add preheat for a thick belt.)
c. Inspect for limited but consistent “bleed
through” on bottom side, if the belt has
a fabric bottom cover. Edges and tips of
the ngers are closed. (If not: Consider if
temperature is too high, or too low.)
d. Inspect to ensure all ngers are still in place,
especially at the belt edges, with little nger
shrinkage. (If not: Ensure proper use of
bumpers. Consider if temperature was too
high, if pressure was too high, or if dwell time
was too long.)
