2.2 MECHANICAL OPERATION
2.2.01 Printhead Mechanism
The printhead is a spring-charged, 9-pin printhead. It is attached to the carriage, which moves
parallel to the platen. Electrically, the printhead is controlled by the main control board via the
carriage cable and the space motor.
The printhead is composed of the following parts.
Wire Guide
Spring Assembly
Wire, Armature, Spring, Yoke, Spacer
Magnet Assembly
Magnet, Core, Coil, Yoke
Printed Circuit Board
Logic Control, Print Driver, Analog Sensor Control and Thermistor
Cooling Fin
