REFLECTED LIGHT BRIGHTFIELD OBSERVATION
PROCEDURE
}The following flow chart pertains only to the reflected light brightfield observation which is the most basic operation. The
procedures for the polarized light and Nomarski DIC operations will be described in their respective sections.

Set the main switch to “ I ” (ON).
Disengage the analyzer, polarizer,
filter, etc. from the light path.
Select the light path (only when a trinocular
tube is used).
Place the specimen on the stage plate.
Engage the 10X objective in the light path.
Bring the specimen in focus.
Adjust the brightness.
Adjust the interpupillary distance.
Adjust the diopter.
Engage the desired objective in the light path
and bring the specimen in focus.
Insert the required filters.
Adjust the brightness.
Start observation.
