AE lock
This function is suitable for situations when optimum exposure is difficult
to achieve, such as when there is excessive contrast between the subject
and the surroundings.
1 Compose your picture so that
you can lock the exposure, and
press the [ button.

The meter reading is saved.
To reset AE lock, press the [ button
again. Press the [ button to engage
and disengage the AE lock.
2 Position the AF target mark on
the subject you want to focus on,
and press the shutter button
halfway.
The green lamp lights.
3 Press the shutter button fully.
The AE lock is automatically canceled
when the picture is taken.
The landscape appears dark
because the sky is bright.
Recompose your picture so there is not
much sky in the frame and lock the
exposure. Compose your picture again with
the sky in the frame and take the picture.
