Overview

The Olympus IPLEX TX (IV8200T) is an industrial videoscope designed for inspecting and observing the interior of machinery, equipment, materials, and other objects without causing damage. It is a portable and user-replaceable scope unit, making it suitable for various industrial inspection tasks.

Function Description:

The IPLEX TX allows users to visually inspect hard-to-reach areas, record still images and moving images, and display PDF files on its LCD monitor. It features angulation control for precise navigation of the insertion tube and adjustable illumination at the distal end. Usage Features:

  • Intuitive Operation: The device features a button control unit with clearly labeled buttons for various functions, including power, light, angulation, freeze/record, view, and live/wider.
  • Image Display Adjustment:
    • Still Image Display (Freeze): Short-press [FRZ/REC] to freeze a live image.
    • Zoom: Use [T] and [W] buttons to enlarge (up to 2x) or reduce (down to 0.5x) images. Digital zoom may cause slight coarseness.
    • Brightness Adjustment: Use [BRT ▲]/[BRT ▼] buttons to adjust overall image brightness.
    • Gain Mode Switching: [LIVE/WIDER] button cycles through AUTO, WIDER1, and WIDER2 gain modes for optimal brightness in various conditions, including high-sensitivity monochrome boost for very dark subjects.
  • Image Recording:
    • Still Images: Short-press [FRZ/REC] to freeze, then long-press [FRZ/REC] to record.
    • Moving Images: Press [FRZ/REC] to record a still image, then select "YES" and short-press [ENT/MENU] to start moving image recording. Short-press [FRZ/REC] to stop.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: User-replaceable battery. Instructions provided for safe removal and insertion.
  • Cleaning:
    • Distal End: Wipe with a clean, soft gauze or cotton swab, using absolute ethanol or isopropyl alcohol if needed, to remove dirt or water from the objective lens and illumination.
    • Insertion Tube: Wipe with a soft cloth for dirt. For dirty water, machine oil, or other liquids, use a soft cloth or cotton swab with neutral detergent, then clean water, and dry thoroughly. Immediate cleaning after use is recommended to prevent corrosion. Avoid hard cloths or brushes.
    • Control Unit: Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with clean water, then a clean, dry cloth.
    • LCD Monitor: Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with clean water, then a clean, dry cloth. Avoid chemically treated cloths, strong detergents, benzene, alcohol, or hard/dirty cloths to prevent damage.
    • Main Unit: Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with clean water, then a clean, dry cloth. Clean battery cover, video cap, and AC adapter terminal cap. Avoid rinsing with running water.
  • Scope Unit Replacement: The scope unit is user-replaceable if damaged. Instructions detail how to loosen the fastening ring, remove the old unit, and connect/initialize a new one.
  • Storage Precautions: Store in normal room temperature and humidity, with power off, battery removed, angulation lock unlocked, and angulation section straight, in the carrying case on a level, clean, dry, and stable surface. Avoid severe bending, pulling, twisting, crushing, or heat exposure for cables.
