The OMRON BP9310T Blood Pressure Monitor is a digital device designed for measuring blood pressure and pulse rate in adult patients at home. It utilizes the oscillometric method to detect blood movement through the brachial artery and convert it into a digital reading. The monitor can be used by multiple users and is intended for home use.
The monitor should not be used on infants, toddlers, children, or individuals who cannot express themselves. It is contraindicated for use in ambulatory environments and on aircraft. Users should never adjust medication based on readings from this monitor and should always consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure. The device should not be used on an injured arm or an arm under medical treatment, nor should the arm cuff be applied while on an intravenous drip or blood transfusion. Avoid using the monitor in areas with high-frequency (HF) surgical equipment, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, or computerized tomography (CT) scanners, as this may lead to incorrect operation or inaccurate readings. It is also not suitable for oxygen-rich environments or near flammable gas. Individuals with common arrhythmias (atrial or ventricular premature beats, atrial fibrillation), arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, or renal disease should consult their physician before use, as these conditions, along with patient motion, trembling, or shivering, may affect measurement accuracy. Always consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. To prevent strangulation, keep the air tube and AC adapter cable away from infants, toddlers, and children. The product contains small parts that could pose a choking hazard if swallowed.
Data Transmission and RF Emissions:
This monitor emits radio frequencies (RF) in the 2.4 GHz band. In RF-restricted areas (e.g., aircraft, hospitals), the Bluetooth® feature should be turned off, batteries removed, and/or the AC adapter unplugged. Refer to FCC/ISED documentation for further information on Bluetooth usage restrictions.
AC Adapter (Optional Accessory) Handling and Usage:
Do not use the AC adapter if the monitor or cable is damaged. If damage occurs, turn off the power and unplug immediately. Plug the AC adapter into an appropriate voltage outlet; do not use a multi-outlet plug. Never plug or unplug the AC adapter with wet hands. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the AC adapter.
Battery Handling and Usage:
Keep batteries out of reach of infants, toddlers, and children. Insert batteries with correct polarities. Use only 4 "AA" alkaline or manganese batteries; do not mix new and used batteries or different brands. Remove batteries if the monitor will not be used for an extended period. If battery fluid contacts eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and consult a physician. If fluid contacts skin, wash with clean, lukewarm water and consult a physician if irritation persists. Do not use expired batteries. Periodically check batteries for good working condition.
General Cautions:
Discontinue use and consult a physician if skin irritation or discomfort occurs. Consult a physician before using on an arm with intravascular access, therapy, or an arterio-venous (A-V) shunt, as temporary interference to blood flow may result in injury. Consult a physician before use if you have had a mastectomy. Consult a physician before use if you have severe blood flow problems or blood disorders, as cuff inflation can cause bruising. Do not take measurements more often than necessary to avoid bruising from blood flow interference. Inflate the arm cuff only when applied to the upper arm. Remove the arm cuff if it does not deflate during a measurement.
Usage Restrictions:
Do not use the monitor for any purpose other than measuring blood pressure. During measurement, ensure no mobile or other electrical devices emitting electromagnetic fields are within 12 inches (30 cm) of the monitor, as this may cause incorrect operation or inaccurate readings. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the monitor or its components. Avoid using in locations with moisture or a risk of water splashing. Do not use in a moving vehicle. Avoid dropping or subjecting the monitor to strong shocks or vibrations. Do not use in places with high or low humidity or extreme temperatures (refer to section 10 for specifications). During measurement, observe the arm to ensure no prolonged impairment to blood circulation. Do not use in high-use environments like medical clinics or physician offices. Do not use with other medical electrical (ME) equipment simultaneously.
Measurement Preparation:
Avoid bathing, drinking alcohol or caffeine, smoking, exercising, and eating for at least 30 minutes before a measurement. Rest for at least 5 minutes before a measurement. Remove tight-fitting or thick clothing from your arm. Remain still and do not talk during a measurement. Use the arm cuff only on persons whose arm circumference is within the specified range. Ensure the monitor has acclimated to room temperature before use; OMRON recommends waiting approximately 2 hours after extreme temperature changes.
Cuff and Air Tube Handling:
Do not crease the arm cuff or air tube excessively. Do not fold or kink the air tube during measurement, as this may interrupt blood flow and cause injury. To unplug the air plug, pull on the plastic air plug at the base of the tube, not the tube itself.
Accessories:
Only use the AC adapter, arm cuff, batteries, and accessories specified for this monitor. Using unsupported accessories may damage or be hazardous to the monitor. Only use the approved arm cuff for this monitor; other cuffs may result in incorrect readings. Inflating to a higher pressure than necessary may cause bruising (refer to section 3 for manual inflation instructions if systolic pressure exceeds 210 mmHg).
Data Transfer Precautions:
Do not replace batteries or unplug the AC adapter while readings are being transferred to the Telehealth service receiver, as this may result in incorrect operation or failure to transfer data.
Monitor Components:
The monitor includes a display, a [Connection] button (Memory), and a [START/STOP] button. On the side, back, and bottom, it has an air jack, an AC adapter jack (for optional AC adapter), and a battery compartment. The arm cuff includes an air plug and an air tube.
