Do you have a question about the Omron F3W-D and is the answer not in the manual?
The Omron F3W-D is a compact picking sensor designed for mistake-proofing in parts picking procedures, offering resistance to mutual interference and adaptability for various parts. It can be mounted on a parts rack and utilizes indicators to guide picking operations.
The F3W-D sensor functions as a through-beam photoelectric sensor, detecting objects that interrupt its light beams. It is primarily used for mistake-proofing in parts picking, where it guides users through the correct picking sequence using visual indicators. The sensor can operate in various display modes: "All Lighting," where all indicators are lit; "All Flashing," where all indicators flash simultaneously; "Elevator-like Lighting," where two adjacent indicators light up and move up and down; and "Accordion-like Lighting," where some or all indicators light up and move like an accordion. The display speed for these modes can be selected as slow or fast.
The sensor offers two main output types: NPN open collector and UNI-WIRE SYSTEM direct connection. The NPN open collector models (F3W-D052A(P) and F3W-D052B(P)) provide control outputs that can be configured as Dark-ON or Light-ON. They also feature picking instruction indicator inputs for external control. The UNI-WIRE SYSTEM models (F3W-D052U(P)) are designed for wire-saving systems, allowing up to 64 picking sensors to be connected to a single UNI-WIRE Interface Unit. These models use transmission outputs and inputs for communication within the UNI-WIRE system.
The F3W-D can connect to external picking indicators, which can be mounted in easy-to-see locations, providing flexibility in system design. It also includes built-in LED indicators for operation status, stability, and picking guidance.
