1.5 Back Panel Earth Connection
Safety
• Some configurations of the ONE100 are equipped with an FXO and/or FXS interface, and will need
a hard wired Protective Earth connection between the earth stud on the back panel and the protective
earth of the load centre.
This connection must be permanent, secure and protected against corrosion.
• The earth wire must be mechanically protected when crossing floors and walls and never be built
directly.
• The connection must be made with a green/yellow wire of at least a 1 mm² section.
• The location of the earth stud on the back panel depends on whether the device is equipped with an
FXO port or not. If that is present, the earth stud is located on the left side above the console port;
otherwise it is located on the right side of the back panel. This is illustrated in the following figure:
• 2 versions of the earth stud exist, it can either be a screw hole, or a clinching stud.
How to connect the earth cable with the back panel of the devices, is different in both cases; this is
explained further down.
• For safety reasons it is essential that the hard wired Protective Earth connection is installed before
connections are made to any FXO/FXS ports.
• The hard wired Protective Earth connection must be carried out by authorized service personnel.
