Getting Started
Press ENTER, then press MODE
ADJ / repeatedly to enter the
distance between your listening
position and the center speaker.
You cannot enter the following distances:
• Distances larger than the distance set for
the front speakers.
• Distances smaller than the distance
obtained by subtracting “5 ft. (1.5 m)”
from the distance entered for the front
speakers.
Note
If the center speaker configuration is set to
“NONE” in step 4, this step will be skipped.
Press ENTER, then press MODE

distance between your listening
position and one of the surround
speakers.
• The distance from the listening position
to one of the surround speakers must be
the same as the distance to the other
speaker.
• You cannot enter the following distances:
– Distances larger than the distance set
for the front speakers.
– Distances smaller than the distance
obtained by subtracting “15 ft. (4.5 m)”
from the distance entered for the front
speakers.
Note
If the surround speaker configuration is set to
“NONE” in step 5 this step will be skipped.
Press ENTER.
The normal display appears.

Adjusting Each Speaker's Relative Volume
Balance – Test Tone
If headphones are connected, remove the headphones.
Slide the DVD RECEIVER/LEVEL
SETUP/TV switch to LEVEL SETUP.
Press TEST TONE.
Each speaker emits the test tone (pink
noise) in the following order:
LEFT → CENTER
(Front left ch.) (Center ch.)
↑↓
SUBWFR RIGHT
(Subwoofer) (Front right ch.)
↑↓
L-SUR. ← R-SUR.
(Surround left ch.) (Surround right ch.)
Note
The speaker whose configuration is set to “NO”
or “NONE” will be skipped.
Press CH SEL repeatedly to select
the speaker, then press LEVEL /
to raise or lower the volume level
until you have an equal volume
balance with the other speakers at
your listening position.
The volume level can be adjusted between
–12dB and +12dB.
When you have completed the
adjustment, press TEST TONE.
Note
Set the DVD RECEIVER/LEVEL SETUP/TV
switch to DVD RECEIVER for normal use of the
remote controller.
