9.1 Preventive maintenance

The used detector is not subjected to measurable aging when used properly.

Lamp

exchange 1 - 2 years
Operation of the lamp below its
nominal voltage (4.8 V DC
instead of 5.0 V DC) enhances
lamp life. Strong vibrations, high
temperatures or frequent on and
off switching of the system can
have negative effects on the ser-
vice life. Statistical service life
amounts to 3 years, for UV
lamps to 1–2 years.
