Under rare conditions, attempting to start the console using the CLI command start /SP/
console fails.
When this happens, Oracle ILOM returns to the CLI prompt without displaying any warning
messages.
When the console redirection command is successful, it looks like this:
-> start /SP/console
Are you sure you want to start /SP/console (y/n) y
Disabling external host serial connection
Serial console started. To stop, type ESC (
When the command fails, it looks like this:
-> start /SP/console
Are you sure you want to start /SP/console (y/n) y
->
Workaround
1. Reboot the SP.
Use the command reset SP.
2. Wait for the SP to fully reboot.
3.
Try the start /SP/console command again
The console redirect works after the SP boots.

Oracle ILOM only supports a single console session, which is started using the start /SP
console command.
