Unsecured screw connections
Pinching, crushing, tipping over, falling of user due to assembly errors
f After all adjusting/readjusting work, retighten the mounting screws/nuts firmly. Observe any torque settings
which may be specified.
f Any time you loosen a screw connection with thread lock, replace it with a new screw connection with thread
lock or secure the old screw connection with medium strength thread locker (e.g. Loctite241).
Tipping or falling of the product
Damage to product due to lack of attachment
f When you work on the product, secure it so that it cannot tip over or fall over.
f Use a clamping fixture to secure the product whenever you work on it at a workbench.
Incorrect cable routing
Damage to cables due to pulling or pinching
f When positioning the cables make sure that they cannot be pinched.
f When performing any adjustment and installation work near installed cables, ensure that the cables are suf-
ficiently long for all adjustment possibilities and cannot become pinched. Use cable extensions and additional
cable attachments if necessary.
Incorrect lifting
Damage to the product, tearing off of side panels due to user error
f Do not use the side panels to lift the wheelchair.
Incorrect cleaning
Damage to the product due to user error
f Water must not come into direct contact with the electronics, motor or batteries under any circumstances.
f Never use a water jet or high-pressure cleaning apparatus to clean the product.
f Use a cloth or sponge for cleaning.
f Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.
f Check the driving behaviour of the product after cleaning it.
3 Transport and storage
3.1 Transport
Improper transport
Damage to the product due to collision and falling down
f Only use hoisting devices that have a sufficient capacity and the designated carry handles for transport.
f The power wheelchair must be secured in accordance with the regulations for the transport device.
f During transport on lifting platforms or in lifts, the wheelchair control unit must be switched off. Engage the
brake.
f Ensure that the power wheelchair is centred on the lifting platform. None of the power wheelchair components,
such as the anti-tipper or other parts, are allowed to be in the danger zone.
The size of the wheelchair can be reduced for transport (see Fig.2).
