5.2 MULTIPURPOSE_IO(M_IO)
MULTIPURPOSE_IO (M_IO) is a configurable input or output channel accessible within the Interface Box
JumperJ4connectedtotheMULTIPURPOSE_IOpinoftheInterfaceBox. Detailedinformationonhow
toconfigurethischannelusingthesensorTCPinterfacecanbefoundintheAPIGuide. Bydefaultthis
channelisdisabled.
WhenthischannelisconfiguredasanOUTPUT,theM_IO sendsapulsesequencethatcanbeusedfor
timesynchronizationoreventtriggeringoutsidethesensor. Forafulldescriptionofoutputpulsetrig-
geringoptions,refertotheSoftwareUserManualformoreinformation. Thisoutputisanopto-isolated
opencollectorcircuit,relyingonanexternallyprovidedpull-upresistor. Thisresistorisprovidedfora
typical3.3V/5Vapplicationas partof theInterfaceBoxcircuitry.

When this channel is configured as an INPUT, the M_IO can accept a standardNMEA$GPRMCUART
message. These messages are a common way for GPS systems to share timestamp information in
