9. Now we will need to set up the Link Health Monitor to allow the router to ping an IP address on
the Internet in order to determine if a WAN port is down. Navigate to Router->Static->Settings.
Click Create New.
10. Specify a Name for the entry. Select wan1 as the Interface. Leave the Gateway IP at all 0’s. The
Server is the IP address that the router will continuously ping. We recommend using 8.8.8.8. The
probe interval specifies how often the router will ping the IP address used in the ping server.
The failover threshold specifies how many times the pings must fail in order for the router to
failover to wan2. The Recovery Threshold specifies how many pings must be successful for
wan1 to be considered up. Leave the Update Routing Table when Gateway Detection Status
Changes checked. Leave the Bring Down (Up) box unchecked. Click OK.
