Why is Caller ID not working on my Panasonic KX-TG2431. Cordless Telephone?

  If your Panasonic Cordless Telephone does not display the caller’s name and/or phone number, you may not have subscribed to Caller ID service. If your unit is connected to any additional telephone equipment such as a Caller ID box or wireless telephone jack, disconnect the unit from the equipment and plug it directly into the wall jack. If your unit is connected to a telephone line with xDSL service, connect a noise filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack. The name display service may not be available in some areas. Other telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit; disconnect the other equipment and try again. If a call is being transferred to you, the caller information will not be displayed. Generally caller information is displayed from the 2nd ring.

  If you cannot make a call on your Panasonic Cordless Telephone, the dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Set the dial mode to match the type of telephone service you have (tone or pulse). If the base unit (including answering system) or another handset is in use, you may not be able to make a call; try again later. Also, while listening to messages using the handset, you cannot make a call; exit by pressing {OFF}.

  If you have fully charged the battery of your Panasonic Cordless Telephone, but “Recharge battery” is still displayed and/or 7 continues to flash, or “Charge for 6h” and 8 are displayed, clean the charge contacts and charge again. The battery may also need to be replaced.

  If you cannot program items on your Panasonic Cordless Telephone, it may be because programming is not possible while the handset and base unit are being used. Also, do not pause for over 1 minute while programming. Try moving closer to the base unit. If another user is listening to messages or the answering system is answering a call, you cannot program; try again later.

  If the display on your Panasonic Cordless Telephone shows “No link to base. Move closer to base, try again.” and an alarm tone sounds, it could be due to the following reasons: * The handset is too far from the base unit; move closer and try again. * The base unit’s AC adaptor is not plugged in; plug it in. * The base unit antenna is not raised; raise it. If these steps do not solve the problem, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. Register the handset again.
