8) For multiple assemblies only:
Remove the thrust plate from the bearing carrier.
Examine and replace if necessary.
9) Lift or pry off the section gear housing. If prying is
necessary, take care not to damage machined
surfaces (Fig. 8). Examine and replace if necessary
(See pages 19-20).

10) Remove section seal and examine for damage.
Insert seal back into the bottom of the gear housing
for reassembly (Fig. 9)

11) Inspect gear housing for damage/cutout at the gear
bore (Fig. 10
