The optimal pendulum motion can be es-
tablished through practice; the following
settings are recommended:
• For thin material, hard material (e.g.
metal) or for cutting curves: Level 0
• Fine and clean cutting edges can be
achieved with little or no pendulum mo-
tion: Level 0 or 1.
• Soft material (wood, plastic, etc.): level
2 or 3
Plunge sawing
Requirements
• Soft materials such as wood, aerated
concrete, plasterboard etc.
• Mitre angle: 0°
• Maximum stroke rate selected (level 6)
• Short saw blade mounted
Procedure (Fig.F)
1. Place the device with the front edge of
the footplate (13) on the workpiece.
The saw blade (17) does not touch the
workpiece.
2. Turn the device on. Wait until the max-
imum stroke rate has been reached.
3. Press the saw blade (17) into the work-
piece until the footplate (13) rests on
the workpiece.
4. Continue sawing along the cutting line.
General Information
With this order, you work safely with the
sabre saw and achieve a good result:
1. Clamp the workpiece. Use a clamping
device for small workpieces.
2. Draw a line to specify the direction in
which the saw blade is guided.
3. Hold the device securely by the
handle.
4. Set the stroke rate.
5. Set the mitre angle.
6. Set the stroke strength.
7. Turn the device on.
8. Wait until the device has reached its
full stroke rate.
9. Place the footplate on the workpiece.
10. Slowly move the device along the
marked line, pressing the footplate
firmly down onto the workpiece.
11. Do not apply too much pressure in the
cutting direction. Let the device do the
work.
12. Before shutting down the device, switch
it off and wait for it to come to a com-
plete standstill.
Switching on and off
Switching on
1. Insert the plug in the socket.
2. Set the stroke rate using the rotary
wheel (1).
3. Press the On/Off switch (3).
4. Lock the On/off switch (3): Press the
lock button (2) when the On/off switch
is pressed all the way down.
The lock button locks.
Switching off
1. On/Off switch locked: Press the On/
off switch (3).
The lock button (2) unlocks.
2. To turn it off, release the on/off switch
(3).
3. Do not pull the sawblade out of the cut
until it has come to a standstill.
4. Pull the device plug out of the wall out-
let if you are leaving the device unat-
tended or if you have finished working.
Transport
Notes
• Turn off the device.
