7.3.
Valve
Clearance
Adjustment
Valve
clearance
adjustment
is
carried
out
on
cold
engine
and
both
the
inlet
and
exhaust
valve
clearances
are
adjusted
to
0.1
mm.
The
valve
clearance
is
measured
by
a
feeler
gauge
between
the
valve
and
the
valve
rocker
roller
ter
the
cover
of
the
valve
rocker
compartment
was
removed.
Valve
earance
adjustment
is
carri
out,
with
the
piston
of
the
corresponding
cylinder
in
its
top
dead
centre
of
the
compression
stroke,
or
according
to
the
valve
overlap,
as
lows:
-
Start
with
the
cylinder
No. 1
(valve
overlap
cylinder
NO.4)
and
then
proceed
in
accordance
with
the
firing
each
time
turning
the
crankshaft
by
180
deg.
in
the
sence
of
rotation,
i.e.
cylinder
NO.3
(NO.
2
cylinder
valve
overlap),
then
inder
NO.4
(No.
1
cylinder
valve
overlap)
and
finally
cylinder
No. 2
(No.3
cylinder
valve
overlap)
.
The
feeler
gauge
should
fit
without
any
play,
but
should
not
be
clamped.
Clearance
adjustment
is
accomplished
after
loosening
the
lock
nuts.
The
completing
the
adjustment.

be
clean,
free

damage

at
the
instant
of
closing.
Adjust
ignition
timing,
after
loosening
the
clamping
sleeve
then
turn

the
magneto
opposite
to
its
rotor

of
rotation
to
iminate
backlash,
with
correctly
adjus
value
of
spark
advance
on
the
I
crankshaft
(in
detail
se
12.2.).
Correct
position
is
at
the
moment
when
the
contacts
break
up.
Accurate
ignition
timing
adjustment:'

engine

run
so
that
switching
any
of
the
two
ignition
magnetos

results

speed
drop
