Cruising
Flight
Engine
speed
according
to
the
type
of
propeller.
Recommended
cruising
engine
speed
is
2
350
rpm.
Temperatures
and
pressures
within
approved
operating
limits.

Engine
Shutdown
The
engine
is
cooled-
down
in
course
of
descent
and
taxying.
The
enegine
may
by
stopped
by
switching
the
magnetos
OFF
after
cylinder
head
temperature
decreased
to
160
deg.

The
engine
may
be
cooled
down
after
long
taxying
or
after
taxying
at
high
power
setting
running
it
at
an
insreased
idle
power
setting
i.e.
at
1
200
rpm.

Start

engine
following

procedure
given

Only
the
choke
should
be
shut
if
the
engine
is
still
warm.
Switch
battery
charging
ON
after
the
engine
reached
1
000
rpm.
Full
power
should
not
be
used
before
reaching
the
specified
minimum
operating
temperatures.
Using
the
Manual
Starter
Manual
starter
of
the
Mikron
III
A
engine
is
controiliad
by
a
short
continuous
pull
of
the
starter
handle
so
as
to
turn
the
engine
over
the-
compression
stroke.
This
should
be
adequate
for
windmilling
starting
of
the
englne
provided
that
propeller
setting
was
correct
and
airspeed
sufficient.
Violent
and
long
pulling
at
the
handle
may
result
in
starter
damage.
