TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom Probable Cause Solution
Unit transmits electric current
(electric shock)
Installation not according to local technical standards
Shut down and call for service
Damage to electrical components
Excessive starts or greater than
500 hours runtime in six (6)
months
Leaks in restaurant plumbing downstream of compressor system Find leaks and repair to reduce compressed air demand
Pump-up time exceeds two (2) minutes, 50 seconds
Consult Troubleshooting Section Pump-up time of Everpure
EverDri Compressed Air System greater than two (2)
minutes, 50 seconds
Water in tank Consult Troubleshooting section "Water in tank"
Air bypasses check valve Confirm function, clean or replace check valve
Restaurant airflow demand exceeds compressor capacity Call Pentair Technical Support
Pump-up time of Everpure EverDri
Compressed Air System greater
than two (2) minutes, 50 seconds
(follow pump-up procedure)
Leakage in fittings
Tighten fittings to eliminate leakage or replace damaged
parts
Cut-out pressure above specifications
Adjust the pressure switch to meet specified cut-in and
cut-out pressures
Leakage around pressure regulator
knob
Damaged pressure regulator Replace pressure regulator
Leakage from pop-safety valve Damaged pop-safety valve Replace pop-safety valve
Leakage from pressure switch Damaged pressure switch Replace pressure switch
Plugged compressor inlet filters Replace compressor inlet filters
Air leakage through water drain tube
while compressor is running
Coalescer drain stuck open Replace coalescer filter assembly
Coalescer leak between body and bowl
O-ring seal is damaged or
missing
Replace coalescer filter assembly
Membrane air dryer defect Follow Troubleshooting procedure 1
Piston rings are worn
Replace piston rings and reed valves after eliminating other
potential causes as the source of high pump-up time
Reed valves do not seal
Leakage from compressor head gaskets/piston sleeve seal/crossover tube
seals
Replace leaking seals/gaskets
Water in tank
(Contact Technical Support)
Coalescing filter fails to remove liquid
water from compressed air
Filter or drain failure Replace coalescer filter assembly
Coalescing filter water drain
tube kinked or plugged
Remove kink or obstruction
Improper extension of water
drain tube
Remove drain tube extension and drain directly under
enclosure
Membrane air dryer not functioning
properly
Membrane air dryer defect Follow Troubleshooting procedure 1
Membrane air dryer plumbed
in reverse
Reverse orientation of membrane air dryer to confirm
airflow direction matches flow arrow
Encloser cooling fan not functioning Replace enclosure cooling fan
