Why does my Pentair IntelliComm circuit breaker trip repeatedly?
    • T
      Tommy FreemanJul 29, 2025
If the circuit breaker trips repeatedly when using your Pentair Swimming Pool Pump, it could be due to excessive motor current or a GFCI fault. Ensure the breaker has adequate capacity. For a GFCI breaker, test it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure no other lights or appliances are on the same circuit. Also, check if the voltage is too high or too low.

Why is there an electrical problem with my Pentair IntelliComm Swimming Pool Pump?
    • A
      Andrew SmithAug 9, 2025
If you're experiencing an electrical problem with your Pentair Swimming Pool Pump, it might be running too slowly or too hot. Check the voltage at the motor terminals and at the meter while the pump is running. If the voltage is low, refer to the wiring instructions or consult your power company. Inspect for loose connections. Ensure the line voltage is within 90% to 110% of the rated voltage; if it's outside this range, consult a licensed electrician. Increase ventilation and reduce the ambient temperature around the pump. Tighten any loose wiring connections. If the motor's internal terminal overload protector is open and the motor runs too hot, turn off the power to the motor and check for proper voltage and impeller issues.

How to troubleshoot mechanical noise in Pentair Swimming Pool Pump?
    • J
      Jason HubbardAug 13, 2025
If your Pentair Swimming Pool Pump motor is running with loud noise, or you are experiencing mechanical troubles, it might be due to cavitation or foreign matter in the pump impeller. Ensure suction and discharge piping are adequately supported and that the pump is securely mounted on a concrete platform, not wood, for quieter performance. If there's foreign matter, disassemble the pump, clean the impeller, and follow the service instructions for reassembly. Improve suction conditions by increasing pipe size, decreasing the number of fittings, and increasing discharge pressure.

Why is circulation inadequate in my Pentair IntelliComm Swimming Pool Pump?
    • M
      Mrs. Maria ClarkAug 18, 2025
If you notice inadequate circulation with your Pentair Swimming Pool Pump, it could be due to pump over current. Check the trap basket; if it's plugged, turn the pump off and clean the basket. Also, ensure that the suction/discharge piping is not too small and check and clean the pool filter.

What to do if Pentair IntelliFlo does not respond to IntelliTouch commands?
    • M
      Mario SandovalAug 23, 2025
If your Pentair IntelliFlo isn't responding to IntelliTouch commands, it may be due to an improper IntelliTouch/IntelliFlo setup or a communication network problem. First, ensure the communication cable is connected at both ends. Next, check that the IntelliFlo local address matches the address used in the IntelliTouch. Also, verify that the IntelliFlo has been assigned a circuit name on the IntelliTouch. Finally, make sure the IntelliFlo display says 'DISPLAY NOT ACTIVE'. A defective device on the network can inhibit proper operation; disconnect devices sequentially until the network starts working.

What to do if Pentair Swimming Pool Pump has reduced capacity?
    • C
      Chad DixonNov 3, 2025
If your Pentair Swimming Pool Pump has reduced capacity, it may be due to air pockets or leaks in the suction line, a clogged impeller, or a clogged pump strainer. Check the suction piping and valve glands on any suction gate valves. To clean the impeller, first turn off the electrical power to the pump. Remove the six bolts holding the volute to the seal plate, then slide the motor and seal plate away from the volute. Remove any debris from the impeller. If necessary, remove the diffuser and O-ring, then remove the left-hand thread anti-spin bolt and O-ring before removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the impeller. Reinstall the anti-spin bolt and O-ring, then reinstall the diffuser and O-ring. Reinstall the motor and seal plate into the volute, and tighten the six bolts securely. Finally,...
