Example1: Measuring h, h=a-b;(if point B is lower than point A, the reading
from “a-b” is negative number).
Example2: Measuring Distance.
Divide the distance into a number of sections if the distance or the H between A
and B is long or large ( Fig.4.2 ).
Calculating formulas like follows:
h = Summation of backsight – Summation of frontsight
Altitude of the measured point= Altitude of the known point + h
4.2 Measuring Horizontal angle
Horizontal circle graduations are arrayed according to clockwise direction, so
sighting from left to right.
1）Use the plumb bob to set the instrument directly above the surveying point
( Fig .4.3 ).
