Formatting a SD Memory Card/MultiMediaCard and the Built-in memory
Formatting will delete all the data on the SD Memory Card/
MultiMediaCard if you are using a card, and all the data in the
Built-in memory if there is no card inserted.
• Do not remove the SD Memory Card/MultiMediaCard
while the card is being formatted. The card may be dam-
aged and become unusable.
• Formatting will delete protected data too.

Select [Format] on the [ Set-up] menu.

Press the four-way controller ().
The Format screen will be displayed.

Select [Format] with the four-way controller ().
v
Press the OK button.
Formatting will start. When formatting is completed,
the camera is ready to capture images.
