of
an

*
The
cassette
tapes
used
with
this
unit
should
have
as
transparent
leader
tapes
as
possible.
With
a
cassette
which
does
not
use
transparent
leader
tapes
or
which
does
not
use
leader
tape
at
all,
Ouick
Reverse
does
not
operate.
Usual
reverse
operation
occurs
in
about
4
seconds
after
the
music
stops.
When
a
previously-recorded
tape
is
used
for
two-way
recording,
the
beginning
of
the
reverse
direction
will
not
be
erased
for
about
0.3
second.
The
beginning
of
the
second
tape
side
should
therefore
be
erased
manually
prior
to
recording.
:
Quick
Reverse
does
not
operate
for
about
15
seconds
after
the
start
of
playback
or
recording.
In
other
words,
Quick
Reverse
may
not
operate
if
tape
travel
is
started
near
the
end
of
tape.
The
input
signal
is
interrupted
for
about
1
second
at
the
time
of
Quick
Reverse.
Sound
cannot
be
recorded
during
this
period.
OTHER
SPECIAL
OPERATIONS
The
deck
mechanisms
can
be
controlled
and
operated
independently
of
each
other.
Examples:
@
While
one
deck
is
in
the
Play
mode,
the
cassette
of
the
other
deck
can
be
rewound
by
forward
or
reverse
fast
winding.
@
While
one
deck
is
recording
the
whole
of
an
analogue
disc
or
CD,
the
other
deck
can
record
only
the
desired
music
tracks
from
it
(this
is
done
by
setting
the
other
deck
to
the
Record-Pause
mode
while
unwanted
music
tracks
are
played).
@
After
setting
both
decks
in
the
Play
mode,
the
output
playback
sound
can
be
switched
between
them
by
pressing
the
‘DECK
A‘
and
‘DECK
B'
buttons
@).
Note,
however
that
the
sound
is
interrupted
for
a
moment
during
switching.
Notes:
@
Two
or
more
operations
involving
search,
such
as
Programmed
Playback,
Single
Repeat
Playback
and
QMS,
cannot
be
performed
simultaneously.
@
While
a
search
operation
is
being
performed
on
one
deck,
a
QMS
operation
or
Single
Repeat
Playback
is
not
accepted
for
the
other
deck.
When
a
OMS
operation
or
Single
Repeat
Playback
is
initiated
on
one
deck
while
the
QMS
count
is
being
displayed
or
Single
Repeat
Playback
is
being
performed
on
the
other
deck,
the
QMS
count
display
or
Single
Repeat
Playback
of
the
other
deck
is
cancelled
(the
QMS
count
display
is
cleared,
or
the
Single
Repeat
Playback
is
cancelled
and
the
deck
enters
the Play
mode).
Caution:
In
case
power
is
turned
off
during
playback
or
recording
@
Do
not
turn
off
the
power
of
your
system
during
playback
or
recording
of
the
cassette
deck.
@
When
it
is
required
to
stop
during
playback
or
recording,
be
sure
to
press
the
'm'
(stop)
button
@)
first,
then
turn
the
power
off.
If
the
power
is
turned
off
during
operation,
the
cassette
tape
is
left
loaded
so
it
may
sometimes
not
be
possible
to
eject
it
by
pressing
the
‘EJECT’
button
@
or
(5).
In
such
a
case,
turn
the
power
on
again,
enter
the
Play
mode
again,
and
press
the
‘m’
(stop)
button
@).
@
The
same
procedure
also
applies
in
the
case
of
power
failure
or
if
the
amplifier
power
cable
is
unplugged.
To
prevent
damage,
never
attempt
to
force
the
removal
of
cassette
tape
while
the
power
ts
off.
ERASURE
OF
TAPE
When
a
programme
source
is
recorded
onto
a
tape,
the
sound
previously
recorded
on
the
tape
ts
erased
automatically
and
replaced
with
the
new
recording
content.
Therefore,
the
tape
need
not
normally
be
erased.
If it
is
required
to
just
erase
a
tape
without
recording,
set
the
"REC
LEVEL’
control
@)
to
the
minimum
(0)
position
and
let
the
tape
run
in
the
Record
mode.
