IMPORTANT: The recommended method to troubleshoot or replace the pump is to remove the entire filtration system. Please drain enough water from the
pool so that the water level is below the skimmer opening. Then remove the entire skimmer system following the directions below.
CAUTION: If you prefer to leave the skimmer filtration system attached to the pool we recommend having two people available to follow the process
below. PLEASE NOTE: The incorrect handling method may cause damage resulting in water leakage between the canister and liner wall.
1. First, turn the pump off and unplug the main power cord of the system. (REMEMBER TO KEEP ALL PARTS IN A SAFE PLACE FOR REASSEMBLY LATER)
2. Remove the top cover, strainer basket and filter cartridge and remove any chlorine tablets left inside the core section of the filter.
3. Unscrew the locking ring and remove the diverter fitting (threaded style) or unsnap the diverter fitting (snap-on style) and insert the return fitting plug (RF plug).
4. IMPORTANT: You may get wet. The next step will drain any water that remains in the canister and in the return hose.
5. Loosen the hose clamp on the return fitting at the pool wall, carefully remove the hose from the return fitting and allow the water to drain out of the hose and the
canister. NOTE: You may also remove the hose from the canister but it is not required.
6. Remove the skimmer seal ring to release the canister and remove the filtration system from the pool.
7. Flip the canister over and turn the motor seal nut counterclockwise until free, then remove the pump.
1. First, turn the pump off and unplug the main power cord of the system. (REMEMBER TO KEEP ALL PARTS IN A SAFE PLACE FOR REASSEMBLY LATER)
2. Insert the water stopper into the skimmer opening and push the stopper in to make it engage with the skimmer seal ring making a tight seal to block the water.
3. Unscrew the locking ring and remove the diverter fitting (threaded
style) or unsnap the diverter fitting (snap-on style) and insert the return fitting
plug (RF plug).
You may need to reach
inside canister to free pump.
4. Remove top cover
5
, strainer basket , filter cartridge
7
, it is advised to
use a water container, such as a bucket (shown with dotted line in the
illustration above) to collect the purged water.
Caution this next step takes two people. One person should hold the water
stopper and canister firmly while the other person removes the motor seal nut
1
by turning according to the arrow direction in the illustration above. DO
NOT pull or push the canister as this may cause damage between canister
and pool liner wall.
5. Slide motor seal nut down cord and out of the way. Remove pump
3
from canister. Be careful not to lose the rubber nozzle
2
or
the motor seal gasket
4
. You may need to reach inside the
canister to release the seal between the canister and the pump.
