Why do Porter-Cable Tools lack power and lubrication?
    • M
      mmillerAug 14, 2025
If your Porter-Cable Tools are experiencing a lack of power and seem dry, it may be due to several reasons. A broken cylinder cap spring, cut or cracked rings/seals, a blocked exhaust, dirt/tar build-up on the driver, a misaligned cylinder sleeve, a dry head valve, or low air pressure could be the cause. The solutions include replacing the cap spring, replacing the rings/seals, checking the bumper and head valve spring for blockages, disassembling the nose/driver to clean, disassembling to correct the cylinder sleeve alignment, disassembling and lubricating the head valve, and checking the air supply equipment. Remember to lubricate your tool with PORTER-CABLE pneumatic tool oil.
